The vision of the Laurens County School District 56 Health and Physical Education program is to encourage all students to participate in daily lifelong physical activities and healthy nutritional choices as foundations for achieving wellness which can lead to a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life. Laurens School District 56 was awarded the Carol M. White Physical Education Program grant from the US Department of Educationduring the 2011- 2012 school year. This grant will provide resources to help our district and schools develop a standards based, best practice K-12 physical education and nutrition education program. Students will be challenged to participate in 60 minutes of physical activity a day and to meet daily dietary guidelines. |
