First off, what are E-Alerts? An E-Alert is merely a notification that is sent to a subscriber when changes are made to one of three components of the homepage, to pages within a section or to calendar events.
Secondly, there are two types of E-Alerts: broadcast and content. A broadcast E-Alert can be sent by an editor to a registered user or group of users, while a content E-Alert can be received by a subscriber whenever an editor makes changes to a page to which a registered user has subscribed.
*Note: It is as important for the editor to create an E-Alert each time an update is performed as it is for a registered visitor to subscribe to the E-Alert. One without the other will not work.
This document will present the process by which a registered user may subscribe to receive E-Alerts to stay abreast of any changes made in an area of interest.
After signing in to the web site, a user may click on "Access My Profile" as shown below:
The profile can be edited by the user to update any information, however, for our purposes we will look to make sure that E-Alerts are "ON" and then click on the "Edit Subscriptions" button:
This will present a page where a selection of District pages or School pages can be made from the Drop Down box, and then navigate to the section to select a page. In this example, we are choosing "Technology" under Departments":
Complete the process by scrolling down the page to click the "Subscribe" button, and that's it. Any time changes are made or added an email will be sent to your email address which will contain the link to take to you directly to that page.
Thank you and if you have any questions, you may email the Webmaster.
