    We are pleased to announce the availability of a new application that allows end user viewing of certain content with mobile devices, such as your iPhone, iPod, iPad, and others. These are mobile versions of the apps on the homepages and upcoming events on our district and school sites. Specifically designed for mobile browsing, these apps load faster and are mobile friendly than the full website. Simply enter the URL http://www.laurens56.k12.sc.us into your mobile browser and you will be taken to the district page displaying 5 (currently - more to come later) apps to begin browsing for information such as Announcements, Headlines, Calendar events, and School sites as well.
     
    Please note, however, that this has nothing to do with email, nor is it possible to edit content with mobile devices.

  • Upgrades, upgrades, upgrades...

    I realize that often news travels by word of mouth, and sometimes gets a little "modified" in the telling. This is an attempt to put out a little information as accurately as possible.

    On the subject of upgrades, we would like to note that Joanna-Woodson is receiving new computers to replace the teacher and lab machines that have been giving good service for the last few years. The machines coming out will be gone over and refurbished, updated and are slated for dispersal to replace other older machines throughout the district.

    This chain reaction upgrade process allows the schools and the district to extract the maximum "bang for the buck" out of their investment in Technology.

  • Site Registration

    Site Registration

    **Note first: If you have previously registered on our site, please do not register again. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, simply use the feedback link at the bottom of the page to send an email to the webmaster. Your information will be sent back to you.

    What is it?     It is a means of registering yourself on the school district web site.

    Why should I do it if I don't work for the district? By registering as a parent, guardian, or student, the district will be better able to target specific information directly to you by means of an E-Alert, such as events, school functions, closings due to severe weather, etc... .

    How will I be notified? You can receive notifications by email, or even on your mobile phone. Simply be sure to provide your cell number.

    Also, specify in the "Title" field whether you are a parent, student, etc..., it is now a "required" information field that will greatly simplify the task of assigning the correct role and avoid sending an E-Alert to the wrong person.

    Once registered, you can then sign in to the web site, click on Access My Info, and subscribe to any or all of the different sites, from the district or any of the schools. You may also change any of your personal information as needed.
